»Cacao in ceremonial quality from Guatemala ~ The food of the gods«

This cacao is made with love, heart and careful handwork by the women's collective »Ruk'u'x Ulew«. Ruk'u'x Ulew is a word from the dialect Kaqchikel and means "heart of the earth".

Cecilia, Maya woman and founder of the women's collective that this word, paired with the traditional production of cacao, pays tribute to her Mayan culture and Mayan ancestry.

After the harvest, only the best beans are selected, fermented in banana leaves and roasted over an open wood fire. The result is delicious cacao with a soft toasted and traditional taste of pure cacao. The processing is carried out gently and with loving handwork.

Cecilia: “I start roasting the cacao beans at 4 am. At this hour I get the best messages. I see how the spirit of the cacao plant connects all the people who work with it."

Especially in Central and South America, cacao has been known for millennia as the "food of the gods". It is said that the cacao spirit only leaves its beloved forest when nature and people are out of balance. The cacao will be blessed in Guatemala before it starts its journey.
